There have been a lot of misgivings about people who don’t understand what is happening in your alma mater, and they go out to say all sorts of things.”

He urged the new executive to endeavour to defend the institution’s interest in crisis situation, stressing on the importance of truth and clarity in addressing misconceptions about the institution.

“But when they run down your institution, they also run you down. So your position as leadership of the alumni is very important,” Ogbu said.

The new National President of EBSUAA, Sunday Nwangele, in his acceptance speech, commended the VC, Governing Council and staff for the enviable ranking standard the university has attained.
