GOVERNOR Ben Ayade of Cross River State has sacked four of his cabinet members, including the Commissioner for Information in the state, Asu Okang.

Ayade was said to have relieved the affected members, including eight others, of their duties, for allegedly refusing to decamp with him to the All Progressives Congress.

One of the affected Commissioners, Ntufam Donstus Etim, had, however, reportedly resigned his appointment before the list was released on Monday.

The statement disclosing the development was signed by Special Adviser, Media & Publicity, to the Governor, Christian ita.

It said, “The state Governor, His Excellency, Prof Ben Ayade, has relieved the following persons of their appointments as commissioners: Mr. Mike Usibe, Rita Ayim, Mr. Asu Okang, Ntufam Donatus Etim.

“Similarly, the underlisted persons have also been relieved of their appointments: Mr Leo Inyambe, Rt Hon. Orok Otu Duke, Mr. Victor Okon (Alausa), Mr. John Etim Bassey, Hon. Agbiji Mbeh Agbiji.

“Consequently, they are hereby directed to return government properties and vehicles in their care with immediate effect to the Chief of Staff to the governor.”
