FOLLOWING the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Osun State Government has directed all schools (Private and Public) to proceed on Christmas and New year break from today, Friday, December 18, 2020.

A statement signed by C K Olaniyan, the Coordinating Director, Ministry of Education in the state on Thursday, said the schools’ closure was to ensure safety of pupils and students.

He said, “The government places a high premium on the safety of our citizens generally and students in particular hence this proactive preventive measure.

“Resumption date will be communicated as soon as it is safe to resume in the new year.”

“The Ministry of Education wishes all stakeholders in the education sector a merry Christmas and a safe new year,” the Director said.
