In a bid to make learning enjoyable for pupils in Egburie Primary school, Ozoro, Isoko North Council Area, Delta State, the Chairman of the council, Hon Emmanuel Egbabor, has donated 100 chairs and tables to the over 300 pupils of the school.
While presenting the chairs, the council chairman said that he was moved to provide the furniture to the school, when he visited some time ago and discovered that they did not have the desks to sit on.
He said, “Some time ago, when I visited the school, I felt pained that a school that is in my local government, the pupils were sitting on the floor. When I left, I felt very bad because I never expected that there was a primary school in a place where pupils were still learning on the bare floor. So, I took it up as a challenge that as a government, we will try as much as possible to provide some desks. Before then, one of my brothers, Martins Ugbegwo, had also made some.
“Last week, when I spoke to Rt. Hon Leo Ogor about the situation, he also directed that some desks should be brought.”
