The Confederation of African Football has sent a medical doctor to supervise the MRI scans for Nigeria’s Under-17 team, in a bid to completely eradicate age cheat in CAF-organised youth competitions.
A top Egyptian doctor sent by CAF is already in Nigeria  to ensure that the scan for the players were not manipulated before next week’s Africa Championship qualifier against Niger Republic.
“This is the first time that a doctor from an independent country will be sent by CAF to supervise the MRI scan. It is expected to further rid the U17s of age cheats,” a CAF official hinted.
“A doctor from Nigeria was also in Cameroon to do the same thing all in an effort to ensure only eligible players feature in the U-17 AFCON, whose qualifiers begin in August.”
