Leaders of Civil Society groups across the country have described the achievements recorded by the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke in the last two years in Osun State as phenomenal.
Addressing a press conference in Osogbo after their assessment and review mission to Osun State on Thursday, the activists commended Governor Adeleke for what they termed as his giant strides, urging him to stick with his high delivery standard.
The spokesperson for the groups, Declan Ihekaire, disclosed that after touring the nooks and crannies of the state for a week, they discovered that the governor has entrenched good governance in Osun.
“We were in Osun State about a week ago and we took a tour of major towns including the capital city. We had taken a tour of major towns in Ife, Ede, Ilesa, Osogbo and Ifon-Osun among others. We had an unguarded tour of the various projects of the current government. We also had exclusive interactions with residence in some Local Governments, who briefed us of the good governance they are experiencing under Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration in infrastructural, human development, and people friendly administration that listens to the opinions and critiques of the residence/citizens which we believe would have propelled the Governor to have achieved the length of success within 2 years.
“It’s on record that during the last administration in Osun State, we conducted a similar exercise, which to us as unbiased umpires, could say boldly that the current administration under Governor Ademola Adeleke has done so much so far that he deserves our commendation and not a total vote of confidence, for him to do more for the people of Osun State,” Ihekaire said.
He noted that the current government has been faithfully committed to the implementation of its agenda, adding that Adeleke enjoys enormous support of the people as never seen in the recent past.
“To us, the enthusiasm displayed so far by the citizenry in the course of our activities affirms a high popularity rating for the state Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, Ihekaire affirmed.
Declaring the governor “a true agent of good governance,” he called on Adeleke to maintain his high performance and should not get distracted by who they identified as shenanigans.
He said Governor Adeleke must stick to his high service delivery standard and scope of his democratic delivery.
Ihekaire also urged Governor Adeleke to improve the welfare of inmates of correctional centres in the state by providing boreholes and other amenities for them.
