PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has approved the removal of the Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Copyright Commission, Tonye Clinton Jaja.

A letter dated October 15, 2020, signed by the Solicitor-General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Justice, Dayo Apata, said Jaja’s removal was with immediate effect.

He was directed to hand over all property of the commission to the Director-General, John Asien.

There was however no reason given for the chairman’s removal, but the letter indicated that there was an earlier letter that had conveyed President Muhammadu Buhari’s approval for his removal.

The said letter was dated September 28, 2020.
