PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has ordered heads of security agencies and other security and intelligence coordinators in Nigeria to identify and take out bandits, kidnappers and their sponsors.

He told the security chiefs during the security meeting held on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to, henceforth, take proactive measures rather than being reactionary with issues of security in the country.

The President said he would not tolerate a situation where criminals would dictate the direction of the fight against insecurity.

He gave a strong directive to the heads of security agencies to fish out the criminals and their sponsors and bring them down.

These were disclosed by the National Security Adviser, Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno (retd), who briefed State House correspondents at the end of the security meeting presided over by the President.

The President also upheld all the decisions approved at the previous security meeting, including the ban on mining activities in Zamfara State and the no fly zone order, the NSA said.
