THE Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress, on Thursday, commenced the distribution of membership registration/revalidation materials to states.
The APC had earlier debunked reports that it had again postponed the membership registration/revalidation exercise scheduled to commence this month.
In line with the schedule of events for the exercise, the distribution of materials is supposed to start from Thursday, January 28, 2021, to Monday February 1, 2021.
The main registration exercise is expected to begin on Tuesday, February 2, 2021; and end on February 16, 2021.
Sorted registeration details from the wards will be forwarded to Local Government Areas and then the State Secretariat, on February 17, 2021, according to the timetable.
The party seems to have kept to this timetable as trucks were seen being loaded with registration materials at the party’s National Secretariat, in Abuja, amid tight security.
A train-the-trainers workshop, supported by the National Democratic Institute, is current being held at Barcelona Hotel in Abuja, to build capacity for a smooth registration process.
Registration committees appointed for the 36 states, including the Federal Capital Territory, as well as other key stakeholders of the APC are in attendance.
