GOVERNOR Abdulahi Sule of Nasarawa State, on Friday, raised the alarm that the terrorist group, Boko Haram, had regrouped at the Benue/Nasarawa border.

The terrorists, who he said had been dislodged from their Toto Local Government Area camp, were now launching attacks on residents from their new base, according to the Governor.

He gave the situation report to President Muhammadu Buhari, as he lamented the continued criminal activities of the terrorist group in the state.

The Governor, who spoke to State House correspondents after a meeting with the President at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, said he was at the Villa to discuss the insecurity issue in his state, among others.

According to him, they also discussed the possible take-over of Jitata Road, which serves as an alternative route from Nasarawa State to the FCT, by the Federal Government.

He however expressed optimism that, having briefed the President, the insecurity situation would be effectively addressed.

The Governor stressed that members of Boko Haram who were active in Nasarawa State belonged to the ‘Darussalam’ group, which he said had been dislodged from Niger State.

He said 900 members of this group were arrested, while many were killed during a joint security operation.

Those arrested confirmed their membership of the Boko Haram, he revealed.
