Boko Haram insurgents yet again attacked and razed Muduvu and Nyibango villages in Madagali Local Council Area of Adamawa late on Monday night. The latest attack comes only few days after similar ones in Ghumbili and Mildu villages of the area where several lives were lost.

Chairman of Madagali Local Council, Malam Yusuf Muhammed, while speaking with newsmen in Yola, said the attack, which occurred at about 11pm, was the fifth in the area by the insurgents within two weeks.

Muhammed called on the Federal Government to come to the rescue of the affected communities as houses, shops and places of worship were completely razed.

“We want the government to come to our aid by improving security,” Muhammed said.

He added that the exact number of the dead and injured has yet to be ascertained. “Villagers who escaped the attack as well as returnees in communities have relocated to Gulak and Madagali town for fear further attacks,” he said.

Muhammed noted that the community that were attacked include Ghumbil and Bakin Dutse in Gulak District as well as Mildu and Muduvu in Sukur.
