Plateau United Footbal Club coach, Kenneth Boboye, is optimistic that his wards will maintain the leadership position after this weekend’s cracker against El-Kanemi Football Club, in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

The former international is living no stone unturned after amassing 13 points, to push the Mountain of Fire and Miracles to the second position.

The chief coach said his side would remain focused and would not be distracted by results of other clubs, who might drop points. He said his team’s concern was where they would be at the end of the season and not where they were at the moment.

The Plateau side had won four of their five matches with a draw game and they are determined to get the maximum points at stake to stay afloat in the keenly contested league. “The league is too young for any club to relax. We shall continue to fight to the end. It is no retreat, no surrender.

The players are up to the task and everybody is aware of the challenges of staying atop of the league table. We don’t want the pressure to distract our attention. We know where we are going, “he said.
