The Osun State Police Command has alerted members of the public to the dangerous activities of internet fraudsters popularly known as Yahoo Boys, urging Nigerians to expose their evil acts to security agencies whenever they suspect any.
Specifically, the force warned young ladies to be cautious in relating with Yahoo Boys, saying they now lure people, kill and harvest their organs and other body parts for ritual purposes.
These were disclosed in a statement on Wednesday by the Public Relations Officer of the police command, Yemisi Opalola.
While assuring members of the public of the readiness of the force to curb the menace, Opalola asked that citizens “say something if they see something.”
“The Osun State Police Command is using this medium to caution members of the public especially young girls on the activities of internet fraudsters popularly known as ‘Yahoo Boys’.
“This warning/advice becomes pertinent as the Command has noticed a disturbing techniques/dimensions of the Yahoo Boys in our society.
“These fraudsters have escalated their nefarious activities to include ritualistic practices, hatching sinister plots to lure and murder unsuspecting victim(s) predominantly women with the intention of harvesting their body parts for ritual purpose.
“The CP is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and visitors of Osun State as the Police Command is working tirelessly to apprehend and prosecute anyone found wanting in this act.
Keep safe! If you see something, say something,” the statement read.
