…says ‘I’ve been given a red card’
Strong indications emerge on Monday that Benue State Governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom, may have dumped the All Progressive Congress, as he declared that he has been given a “red card” by the party.
Ortom said he was now floating and awaiting any party that would admit him.
“As for party, I have been given a red card and I’m outside the pitch. So, if I have been given a red card and I’m standing outside, I’m a free man,” Ortom said.
The governor disclosed this during the inauguration of his Special Adviser, Bureau of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Jerome Torshimbe.
Ortom explained that he was currently consulting relevant stakeholders and exploring other options to actualise his future political ambition.
He said, “So, I don’t know what will happen next; but I’m waiting. If approached, then I will tell the Benue people that I’m joining another football club.
“I’m a child of destiny and it’s only God that will decide what I will be.”
