Bandits kill senior military officer in Kaduna

Some suspected bandits have reportedly killed Air Vice-Marshal Muhammad Maisaka (retd.) at his Rigasa residence in Igabi Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

The victim was the Director, Medical Training Operations, at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja, before he retired.

Maisaka’s killing was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Muhammad Jalige, on Tuesday.

Jalige said that the retired officer’s gateman was injured during the attack that took place in the early hours of Tuesday.

“The corpse has been evacuated to the hospital and the gateman has also been rushed to the hospital for treatment,” he said.

The PPRO added that the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Mudassiru Abdullah, had directed the Divisional Police Officer and the Area Commander in charge of the area to visit the scene.

The former Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani, who confirmed the incident in a tweet on Tuesday, said Maisaka was the Managing Director of MSK Specialist Hospital located in the Rigyasa area of the state.

“Earlier today, AVM Mohammed Maisaka, proprietor and MD, MSK Hospital, (was) shot dead at his residence along Makarfi Road, Rigasa Ward within Kaduna,” Shehu’s tweet read.
