A serving member of the Board of Nigerian Ports Authority and Director, Maritime Services, Federal Ministry of Transport, Auwalu Dauda Sulieman, has been nominated to chair the Panel being set up by the Federal Government of Nigeria to probe the suspended Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Hadiza Bala-Usman.
There are rife speculations that the Federal Government will be inaugurating the probe panel today (May 10, 2021).
Recall that Bala-Usman was suspended on allegations that the NPA under her watch failed to remit about N165.52bn operating surplus, among other things. She denies all the allegations.
Suleiman hails from Jigawa State. He studied International Relations at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1986.
The Point gathered that the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, expected to name other members of the probe panel had yet to do so at the time of filing this report.
