FORMER Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, on Sunday, said the death of the former Minister of Commerce and Industry, Jibril Martins-Kuye, had further depleted the number of truly committed Nigerian patriots whose experience, dedication and service were needed at this critical time of nation building.

Amosun, who is the lawmaker representing Ogun Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, said the late politician demonstrated true traits of a selfless leader.

He said these in a tribute to the late Martins-Kuye, titled, “Senator Jubril Martins Kuye, OFR: Celebrating the life and times of a Consumate Politician, Humanist and Bridgebuilder”.

According to Amosun, the late former Minister, who died on Sunday morning, was a philanthropist of significant proportion, community patron, a committed believer and leader of faith.

His tribute read, “My family and entire stakeholders of the Ogun Central Senatorial District mourn the death, early today, of our leader and political mentor, Senator Jubril Martins Kuye.

“JMK, as the distinguished Senator was popularly known, left large footprints in the sands of time. The records show that whatever the late Aare Musulumi of Ogun State touched, he made a success out of.

“In public service, where he rose to become a two-time Federal Minister; in business and politics, he demonstrated the true traits of a selfless leader, mentor, and bridge builder.

“He was a philanthropist of significant proportion, community patron, a committed believer and leader of faith.

“His death has further depleted the number of truly committed Nigerian patriots whose experience, dedication and service are needed at this critical time of our Nation building.

“We however take solace in the fact that our dear Baba lived a life worthy of emulation; as his many legacies continue to bear admirable testimonies to a life that positively impacted several others.

“Our sincere condolences to his wife, children and extended families; our people in Ago Iwoye; Ogun State stakeholders as a whole, and all loved ones left behind.

“We beseech Almighty Allah, SWT, to forgive his sins and reward him with Aljanah Firdaus.

“Fare thee well, our Leading Leader!”
