The Combined Artisans and Technicians Association of Nigeria, Ado-Odo Chapter, Ogun State, has appealed to the state government to address the challenge of high taxes imposed on members of the association.
The Chairman of the association, Mr. Olabisi Okiki, made the appeal at the end of year programme organised by the association.
He added that the issue of high taxes had been a major challenge confronting the association, noting that the taxes were draining their pockets and could also lead to the collapse of their businesses.
“The taxes we pay are just too unbearable and because of this some of our members have been frustrated out of business.
We all have families to cater for and if we are finally sent out of business with the high taxes, how do we cater for our immediate families?” he asked.
Okiki further said that the development had made so many artisans and technicians to abandon their work and join commercial motorcycle operators.
He, however, urged the state government to ensure stable power supply, reduce the taxes and provide a big place for the association to operate as one.
