Aregbesola’s loyalists, two women make list of Adeleke’s commissioners

Two loyalists of the immediate past Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, have made the list of Commissioners and Special Advisers that Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke sent to the state House of Assembly for approval.

Former Osun commissioner for Youths, Sports and Special Needs, Olabiyi Anthony Odunlade and former state commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Kolapo Alimi are among the 25 nominees.

Odunlade and Alimi are known associates of Aregbesola, a former governor of the state and a leader of the major opposition All Progressives Congress in the state.

While Alimi had defected from APC to the ruling People’s Democratic Party, Odunlade is still in APC.

Governor Adeleke is of the PDP.

Meanwhile, only two women made the list.

They are Mrs Ayo Awolowo and Mrs Adenike Folashade Adeleke.

The Osun State House of Assembly, under the leadership of the Speaker, Adewale Egbedun, on Friday, made public the names of Commissioner and Special Adviser nominees as forwarded to the Assembly by Adeleke.

A statement by the Egbedun’s Chief Press Secretary, Olamide Tiamiyu disclosed that the Speaker read the governor’s letter containing the nominees to members of the parliament at plenary on Friday morning.

The full list of the nominees are: Oladosu Babatunde, Bayo Ogungbangbe, Sesan Epharaim Oyedele, Kolapo Alimi, Soji Ajeigbe, Moshood Olalekan Olagunju, George Alabi, Sunday Olufemi Oroniyi, Abiodun Bankole Ojo, Basiru Tokunbo Salami, Morufu Ayofe, Sola Ogungbile, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo, Mrs Ayo Awolowo, Wole Jimi Bada, Dipo Eluwole, Alh. Rasheed Aderibigbe, Morufu Ademola Adeleke, Adeyemo Festus Ademola, Olabiyi Anthony Odunlade, Jola Akintola, Mayowa Adejorin, Mrs Adenike Folashade Adeleke, Tola Faseru, and Ganiyu Ayobami Olaoluwa.

“The House of Assembly has also set up an Ad-Hoc Committee to conduct preliminary screening of the nominees before they will appear before the House for full screening and confirmation. The process will be completed in good time,” the statement read.
