Despite the clearance given Governor Rauf Aregbesola by the Osun State House of Assembly, pensioners in the state have insisted that the government mismanaged the sum of N34,988,990,000 received in August 2015 from the Federal Government.
The pensioners also accused the governor of destroying the legacies of his predecessors.
They accused Governor Aregbesola of diverting the bailout fund, which caused the inability of the state government to pay workers their full salaries and the non-payment of the gratuities of retirees in the state.
The spokesperson of pensioners in the state, Mr. Yemi Lawal, while speaking on a radio programme monitored by our correspondent in Osogbo, pleaded with Governor Aregbesola not to divert the sum of N11billion, being fund from Paris Club deductions, meant to
pay workers’ salary arrears and pensions.
According to Lawal, “Aregbesola is killing Osun. He should pay us our gratuities. Our members are dying like chicken because of lack of money to take care of themselves. We are pleading with the governor not to divert the N11b Paris Club deductions.”
