Delightfully gorgeous Eku Edewor is many things rolled into one- She’s TV presenter, a fashion icon and a model. The young fashionista, who is a fashion icon in the making, is a presenter with Studio 53 Extra. She is also a part time model, who has strutted her stuff on the runways for some very well-known Nigerian fashion brands.

Edewor says part of what has kept her in fashion and television is her ability to keep fit, especially regarding her shape.
”The secret to my svelte figure is eating healthy and no work outs. Aside from that, I’m obsessed with anti-aging products because I’m constantly researching on ways to beat the aging process in addition to eating healthy,” she says.

The British-born television personality says she had always dreamt of being on television ever since she was a young child. This dream, she adds, prompted her pursuit of a degree in English Literature and Theatre Studies at Warwick University in Coventry, England, where she graduated with honours in 2008. She thereafter successfully completed a three-month course in acting and film at the New York Film Academy in 2009.

“My first job in the entertainment industry was as a production assistant to producer, Damian Jones. In 2007, I competed in the reality show “Britain’s Next Top Model” and have appeared in a number of films, including Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, Flower Girl and When Loves Comes Around. I also co-hosted the Big Brother Africa All Stars’ red carpet in 2010 and also hosted the Pepsi Top Ten Countdown in 2012. So, you can basically see my love for being on TV,” Eku says.

In 2010, after the loss of her stepfather, Edewor returned to Nigeria. Five months after she returned, she attended an open audition for co-presenter on 53 Extra (formerly Studio 53 Extra), an entertainment show produced by M-NET and airing on the DStv’s Africa Magic channel. 53 Extra is a spin-off of Africa Magic’s flagship magazine show Studio 53, which was named for the 53 countries in the African Union. 53 Extra features music, film, fashion, red carpet events, and news about celebrities and industry leaders from across the African continent.

Her upcoming projects include a role in the British series “The Rules to Making Money” and also hosting the red carpet for Ja Rule and Ashanti concert in Nigeria. She was nominated for the TV Presenter of the Year in the ELOY Awards in 2014.
