ANOTHER popular pastor and General Superintendent of Redemption Ministries, Worldwide, Reverend Stephen Akinola, is dead.
The news of his demise was broken just as Nigerians were grappling with the reality of the passing of Prophet TB Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, who reportedly died a few minutes after 12am on Sunday.
Akinola’s Church has its headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The cause of Akinola’s death could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report, though he was said to have gone through a kidney transplant at a time.
Many worshippers and residents had gathered at the church to mourn the popular pastor.
His death was also confirmed by former Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and former Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Rivers State, Apostle Eugene Ogu.
“It is a very sad day for the Christian community. While we were still talking of Prophet TB Joshua, Akinola’s death happened.
“It is so sad. I pray that God comforts the entire body of Christ because he (Akinola) laboured so much for the body of Christ,” he said.
