Anambra hospital searches for family members of patient with memory loss

The management of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku Akwa in Anambra State has urged members of the public to assist in searching for family members of one of its patients.

A statement on Thursday by the Public Relations Officer of the hospital, Henrietta Agbayi said the patient was brought to the facility by Red Cross officials in terrible state of mind and body.

It added that since March 3, 2025 that the female patient who identified herself as Ifeoma Okoye, no one has visited the hospital to identify with her as relation.

Though suffering memory loss, the management mentioned that the patient was able to give some information about herself and her family members.

“This is to bring the notice of the general public that a lady was brought into our facility in a terrible state of mind and body by the Red Cross officials on the 3rd day of March, 2025. The lady although with loss of memory gave her name as Ifeoma Okoye from Isuochi, Abia State and her phone number as 08100767985.

“According to her, she has a son with name Wisdom Ikechukwu who is an SS2 or SS3 student of St. Theresa Aba, Abia State. She also gave her father’s name as Mr. Marcellinus Okoye and her brother as Alozie Okoye,” the statement noted.

The management thereby called on the general public or anybody with viable information on how to reach her family to come to the hospital or contact Agbai Henrietta N., the hospital’s Public Relations Officer on 08039271747, 07081733668.
