The national body of Ebonyi State University Alumni has built and donated a two hundred sitting capacity multipurpose hall to her alma mater.

Commissioning the project at EBSU VIP guesthouse CAS Campus in Abakaliki, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Chigozie Ogbu commended the university alumni for their contributions to the development of the institution.

Handing over the newly built hall to the Vice Chancellor, the National President of EBSU Alumni, Kenneth Ereke called for more collaborative supports from members in all spheres of life for more developmental projects in the University.

The multipurpose hall was named after the immediate past Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Francis Idike for his immeasurable contributions to development of the University.

He called on other products of the school to unite and support the alumni in its efforts at transforming the citadel of learning.

“Our greatest challenge is that we have our members in the political class, business and so many other spheres of life but many of them do not show up in activities of the alumni. We acknowledge that some are not coming because of busy schedules but we are passionately appealing that they identify with the alumni for collaborated efforts towards rapid development of our alma mater.

“The university is a community, if you buy even one laptop computer and donate to the university, I assure you there is a department it will support to serve its purpose. Anything you donate to the university will go a long way to support advancement of effective teaching and learning in your alma mater. We have politicians drilling boreholes here and there, please come and sink one for the university,” Ereke told alumni of the university.
