A Chief Magistrate’s Court in Osun State has remanded a 29-year-old aluminium fabricator, Nurudeen Adedeji, in Ilesa Correctional Centre for allegedly absconding with customer’s money.

Adedeji was said to have failed to produce five aluminium windows for his complainant despite receiving the sum of N420, 000 from Ismail Rahim, one of his customers, under false pretence.

Police prosecutor, Inspector Adeoye Kayode, informed the court that the defendant absconded after collecting the said sum of money for its production.

He stated that Adedeji promised but failed to supply his customer with the fabricated windows within the given period of two weeks.
The charge read in parts that “Nurudeen Adedeji, sometimes in June 2021, at Oluode area in Osogbo, did obtain the sum of N420, 000 with the pretence to provide five aluminium fabricated windows for Ismail Rahim within two weeks knowing same to be false.
“That Adedeji stole the sum of N420, 000 property of one Ismail Rahim.”

The alleged offences contravened sections 419 and 390 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Volume II, Laws of Osun State, 2003.
The accused person pleaded not guilty to the two-count-charge of fraud and stealing levelled against him.

Chief Magistrate A. A. Adebayo ordered that the defendant be remanded in the prison custody pending February 2, adjourned date for mention.
