The Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress in Ebonyi State, Simbad Ogbuatu, has urged Nigerians to give the state Governor, David Umahi, the chance to fix Nigeria by succeeding President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
Ogbuatu who stated this during an exclusive interview with The Point in Abakaliki noted that considering the level of transformation witnessed in Ebonyi State within the last seven years of Umahi’s reign, he would replicate the same in other states of the federation if elected president because proficiency is efficiency.
According to Ogbuatu, the emergence of Umahi as president of this nation, if given the opportunity in 2023, would put a permanent end to the infrastructural deficit and put in place many other dividends of democracy.
“It is said that one good turn deserves another, the man who has the capacity to do something great has the capacity to replicate the same anytime any day.
It is also true that proficiency is efficiency. This is the case of Chief David Nweze Umahi, the governor of the state. He is proficient in governance and therefore efficient in the delivery of dividends of governance to his people.
“What happened in Ebonyi State in the past seven years is something we have never seen in Ebonyi State since her creation. Umahi is a governance technocrat who understands the nitty-gritty of governance and being people-oriented, as such, he is always result-minded.
“The case of David Umahi is a case of come and see. The results are unimaginable, unprecedented and unparalleled anywhere in Nigeria. It’s simply evidence of proficiency and efficiency in governance
“The unusual and pragmatic development of Ebonyi State by His Excellency, David Nweze Umahi, is first of its kind. The infrastructural revolution in the state requires replication in Nigeria as a whole. We all know the level of infrastructural decay in this country. And it is better we adopt a pragmatic approach such as the one we have in Ebonyi State under the leadership of Umahi.
“The Governor of Ebonyi State did what people in government have not done before, which is putting the interest of the people at heart and working tirelessly to give them a better life. The likes of roads with concrete pavements, flyovers all over the state, ultra-modern shopping malls, international Market and Cargo Airport and lots more are there for all to see. These infrastructures are for real and on-ground for any doubting Thomas to see and believe.
“This is why we urge Nigerians to support Umahi for President in 2023. The replication of what he has done in Ebonyi State will take Nigeria and Nigerians to the next level of development which we are all yearning for. Let’s give him the chance to fix Nigeria come 2023,” the party chieftain stated.
