The Federal Roads Management Agency has reiterated its resolve to give adequate attention to all roads in South East in 2025.

The FERMA South East Representative, Kenneth Ugbala announced this at his hometown in Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State when some journalists visited his residence in the spirit of the festive season.

Ugbala identified rapid variations in prices of goods and services as well as insecurity in some parts of the nation as some challenges facing the Agency in discharging its core mandates.

Ugbala appealed to citizens to always pray for the leaders and exercise patience with the federal government, saying there is light at end of the tunnel.

“FERMA do not construct roads except truck Z roads leading to farmlands. Our major jobs are to maintain roads, vegetation control and of course we are into solar. The agitation of the Federal ministry of Works is concrete technology, so, we are cueing into that because we are agency under it. Of course, we are giving Nigerians the best.

“From February 2025, we are going to be facing South East. Pay courtesy visits to governors and other stakeholders to make sure we are being given favorable environment to operate.

“The South East roads are now receiving adequate attention. The double lane from Abakaliki to Enugu is under construction, Afikpo to Okigwe, the one going to Uwana through beach is under construction. South East is benefitting from the ring roads construction. Enugu to Onitsha is receiving attention. Gboko Makurdi to 9th Mile roads are not left behind. These are benefits we had never gotten before now. I think if South East was at any point neglected, I don’t think the present administration is neglecting us.

“All we need to do is exercise patience with our President and of course the Minister for Works. We are going to get the best from this administration. That is why we call our people to continue to support us,” he said.
