Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has arrived Ibadan from Germany where he had gone for a medical vacation
It was learnt that the former NBA president and Attorney general, landed at a Nigerian airport at around 4:47pm on Thursday.
Akeredolu had transmitted a letter to the Ondo State House of Assembly on June 7, informing the lawmakers about his intention to travel abroad for medical treatment and hand over to the deputy governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to act in his stead, as demanded by the constitution.
According to the letter read by the Speaker few months ago, “The leave, which commenced on 7th of June, extends to 6th July, 2023 due to the public holidays on June 12 (Democracy Day) and Eid el Kabir (28th and 29th, June, 2023).”
The Speaker explained further that the Governor had embarked on a long medical treatment abroad starting from 7th of June,2023 to 6th July, 2023.
The governor couldn’t return to the country until today.
The proclamation of the 10th state Assembly was done on behalf of Akeredolu by the Clerk of the Assembly, Benjamin Jayeola.
