Entertainment met Information Technology on Tuesday as Nollywood star, Mercy Aigbe-Gentry, was unveiled as the brand ambassador of Edalaf Brothers Nigeria Limited.
Mercy-Gentry, excited about the new endorsement, said that the deal would make her the first Nigerian celebrity to have a mobile app.
“I am so delighted that Edalaf Brothers appointed me to do this. It is a huge one for me and I pray to God that the collaboration would yield positive results. The deal also allows me to have a website and an app for people to download on their phones. It is a great achievement and it is a way for me to connect with my fans more.”
The actor, who just released her movie ‘Victim,’ also stated that she would be using everything at her disposal, including her huge presence on the different social media platforms, to talk about the Edalaf Brothers and what they do.
“I have over 1 million followers on Instagram and I have over 5000 followers on Facebook. My fans are loyal to me, so I can always influence their decision in a way. I am 100 per cent sure of their credibility because I have an image to protect. I will use everything at my disposal to push the brand,” she said.
At the unveiling ceremony in Lagos, the Chief Executive Officer, Edalaf Brothers, Falade Abiodun, said that Aigbe-Gentry was at the peak of her career and doing well despite being a mother and happily married.
He explained that Mercy had proven herself to be morally upright, scandal-free and could influence the youth positively. “With her as our face, we believe we will have the undivided attention of the Nigerian youth and can actually make the difference by guiding them in the right path to discovering their individual talents and following their passion.”
Falade, however, stressed that they were determined to be the change agent in Nigeria through the power of ICT.
