Former Argentine striker Sergio Aguero gave his take on Ballon d’or 2024 and surprisingly snubbed his friend and former teammate Lionel Messi.
The race for Ballon d’or 2024 will officially closed on Monday morning.
While many believe that Jude Bellingham is now the outright favourite to claim the highly-coveted prize, Aguero continues to think that no one can snatch it from Vinicius after the incredible 2023-2024 season he had with Real Madrid in La Liga and UEFA Champions League campaigns being their standout player.
“Ballon d’Or? Viní Jr. didn’t disappear in Copa America. It’s just that Brazil is going through a tough time and he needs a good team”, the Man City legend analysed in a stream as Vini Jr still managed to score 2 goals in 3 games during the competition in USA.
“Looking at the whole season, Viní had an incredible run; this season, he was better than Mbappe. Every time Vini got the ball in the middle of the pitch, you could feel the danger.
“This season, Viní and Bellingham were key for Real Madrid. I love Bellingham and would rather he got the Ballon d’Or, but you have to acknowledge that Viní was outstanding this season.”
