Following last week’s tsunami which swept away no fewer than 22 directors and general managers at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, a new set of directors and general managers may have emerged.
The Point gathered that some names have already been penciled down to take over the vacancies created by the sack and redeployment gale.
Prominent among the new incoming directors and general managers is a member of the President’s 2015 Transition Committee, Mrs Nike Aboderin, who, The Point learnt, is coming in as finance director.
Since the restructuring, sack and redeployment which hit the airport management agency in June, the Federal Government, The Point learnt, has been screening people it could entrust with key positions in the agency so as to achieve its aim of blocking leakages in the agency.
Towards this end, The Point gathered that Mrs Aboderin was employed three weeks ago by the Ministry of Aviation and has been issued her letter of appointment.
Another individual, whose name could not be confirmed as at the time of writing this report, has also been employed in FAAN as commercial director.
Mrs. Aboderin was a representative of the private sector on the transition committee, with vast experience in the banking sector, where she rose to the position of Group Head, Large Corporates at Skye Bank Plc in 2014. She also had a stint at Citibank Nigeria.
A Special Adviser to the Ogun State governor between July 2011 and August 2014, Aboderin was a member of the state executive council, responsible for the trade and investment portfolio, reporting directly to the governor.
It would be recalled that the Federal Government, following recommendations of a presidential committee headed by the Head of Service, Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita, is restructuring the FAAN with the demotion, sack or redeployment of certain personnel, who were allegedly brought into FAAN without qualification or required experience and given key managerial position.
