A leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, has lamented what he alleged as the betrayal of the Yoruba nation by the National Leader of All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Adebanjo said Tinubu had made the Yoruba Nation to go through humiliation of its life in the hands of the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.
He, however, said following Buhari is a path Tinubu must consider turning back from.
“Tinubu knows he is pursuing the path of destruction by continuing to follow Buhari who is anti-democratic, anti-religious. He does not believe in restructuring the country, that is the truth. Buhari wants everything to be owned by the military.
“He doesn’t want this country to flow peacefully together. Whether you are a Northerner, Igbo, Yoruba, the thing that can keep Nigeria together is restructuring. Tinubu continues to be part of somebody who can never do this,” Adebanjo said.
He added: “In 2007 and 2011 , Buhari said he was going to restructuring when he contested. In 2015, he agreed to join APC to restructure Nigeria, and now he doesn’t. Who are you deceiving? All these, Tinubu aided them.”
Adebanjo however, bemoaned that all Tinubu has done for Yoruba under Buhari’s administration is perfidy.
“All that Tinubu has done under this government is nothing but betrayal. How has the Yoruba been under the Buhari administration? He succeeded in giving appointment to his province. What has Yoruba people benefitted from this government apart from those who are with Tinubu? You say you are fighting corruption and you surround yourself with people who are corrupt. I am not a baby; I am not a small man in this country.
“There is no quest about telling Tinubu about my stand on this issue. Tinubu knows he is pursuing the part of destruction by continuing to follow Buhari,” Adebanjo
said.
