… says ‘we are not intimidated by executive recklessness of ruling party

The African Democratic Congress has kicked against the dastardly attack on its Ogun Central Senatorial Candidate, Rt. Hon. Titi Oseni-Gomez, and called the security authorities to fish out the culprits with immediate effect.

The party frowned at what it described as show of shame and intimidation prevalent with the ruling party.

The State Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Abiola Odutola, said in a statement on Wednesday that such culture should not be allowed to further threaten Nigeria’s fledgling democracy.

The party’s spokesperson condemned the recent attack on Oseni-Gomez and said ADC would not allow itself to be distracted at any level by some cowards that are already threatened with the political weights of the former speaker of the state and other ADC’s candidates across the state.

He said, “Her Sport Utility Vehicle was attacked at Adatan, Abeokuta, Ogun State on her way from a political meeting by some unknown young men that absconded when she challenged them. Youth and electorate should refrain from being tools in the hands of the people in power at the moment. The ugly scenario that culminated in the Presidential rally of the ruling party in the state is still fresh in the minds of Nigerians, and citizens must rise up to say ‘No’ to all forms of electoral corruption and violence.

“The good people of Ogun State should, however, not be distracted by the deliberate show of violence, aimed at discouraging the public from going out en-masse to vote out the non-performing ruling government at all levels. It is on record that the ruling party and other threatened ones have tried to break our great party, ADC, without luck. They have, however, resorted to physical attacks to try to stop what God has perfected. They will not succeed.”

Abiola Odutola
