The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has described the accidental bombing of a civilian community in Rann, Borno State, by a Nigerian Air Force jet, causing deaths and injuries, as utterly tragic.
Mohammed stressed that the incident did not truly reflect the level of professionalism in the NAF. But a leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, enjoined the NAF to perfect its professionalism.
In a statement in Abuja, the Minister extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of those who died in the unfortunate bombing, while also praying for the quick recovery of the injured.
Mohammed, who recently led members of the #BBOG and the media to Yola, where the air component of the fight against Boko Haram is based, expressed sadness over the accidental bombing, arguing that the incident was not a true reflection of the level of professionalism that he witnessed during the visit
