African Action Congress has elected Miss Chioma Ifemeludike as its candidate for the November 2025 governorship election in Anambra State.
Ifemeludike emerged the candidate of the AAC during the party’s primary election.
She is expected to run against the incumbent governor of the state, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, alongside candidates of other political parties.
AAC National Chairman, Omoyele Sowore, was represented at the event by the National Treasurer of the party, Dr Sam Ajeigbe.
The chairman of the election committee, Oshiokhe Ikpeminoghena said it was the constitutional responsibility of the party to field a candidate for the election and that Ifemeludike fulfilled every necessary step that qualifies her to run for the Anambra governorship election.
In her acceptance speech, Ifemeludike promised not to betray the trust bestowed on her by party supporters.
She noted that the party will make sure that the people of Anambra State, especially women, children and youths are empowered to become better citizens of the nation.
Miss Ifemeludike, who hails from Eziowele in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, was unanimously elected through affirmation vote by members of the congress.
