To God be the glory, as visionary and consummate entrepreneur, Dr. Kola Adesina on Friday, August 12, 2022 celebrates his 58th birthday anniversary.

For the Group Managing Director of Sahara Group and board Chairman of Ikeja Electric, electricity represents the baseline for development in any nation of the world, and for that reason he and his team have consciously redoubled their patriotic zeal to ensure that Africa is electrified and also making the black race enlightened and more productive in every sense.

This seasoned administrator leads the vision of Sahara Power Group aimed at bringing energy to life by deploying diversified power sources to light up lives, businesses and sustainable interventions in Nigeria and across Africa.

He is a much sought-after resource person on energy-related issues, especially the power sector in Africa and is also a frontline speaker at conferences across the globe.

Adesina sits on the board of several companies, providing strategic and visionary leadership for the execution of business goals and objectives.

Famous for his philanthropic heart, Adesina has been described as a man of many parts, a successful businessman known for hunting for talents; he has continued to shine his light on humanity and also with a long history of exhibiting trailblazing characteristics.

Adesina has repeatedly shown that he has a milk of human kindness flowing in his DNA.

It is really no shock that Adesina is in the spotlight for his 58th birthday as he has over the years worked hard, learned the ropes and currently on top of his game without setback.

Known for his bright personality which has won him a wide network of high-profile friends, Adesina in spite of his accomplishments remains humble and accommodating.

It is therefore from the prism of Mills’ perspective that one finds it convenient to set out to view and construct a narrative that is celebratory of one of, perhaps, Nigeria’s very few businessmen with the midas touch; one who does not covet the limelight in the fashion of many in his genre but who philosophically hugs tenacity with audacity in exploratory ventures to create and project uncommon values, especially in difficult business terrains.

Adesina continues to traverse many sectors of the economy, deploying the force of his prolific mind to interrogate the essential environment in his restless longing to identify problems and offer solutions through the delivery of goods and services that are usually exclusive.

At Sahara Group, he has overseen many initiatives including nation-wide strategic management of the supply chain of Fuel to the Emergency Power Plant of the defunct National Electricity Power Authority (now Power Holding Company Nigeria Limited), led the Majestic Oil delegation on the acquisition of the Sierra Leone Refinery, managed the Crude Oil contract of the Group in Cote D’Ivoire and served as the Director of Infrastructure, responsible for the acquisition of strategic assets in Africa.

He as well served as a member of the Presidential Committee on the Accelerated Expansion of the Electricity Infrastructure in Nigeria, which culminated in the unbundling of PHCN successor companies.

In what could be perfectly described as a well-deserved service to humanity and Nigeria, the management of Africa’s leading Publishing Company, publishers of Vanguard newspaper, Saturday Vanguard, and Sunday Vanguard, May 2022, recognised and decorated him Vanguard Newspaper Private Sector Icon of the Year, an honour he sees as a call to do more in efforts at improving Nigeria’s energy sector.

For a man who has achieved so much through integrity, hard work, resilience, discipline, godliness, dedication and consistency and has given so much to the society in return, it is simply worthwhile to deservedly celebrate him as he turns 58.

Today, on the occasion of your birthday, Sir, I join the rest of family, business associates, mentees, friends and well-wishers to congratulate you on this great milestone signalling the day you were graciously gifted to humanity by the Almighty God.

May you continue to fulfill your dreams and purpose in life with sound health and long life.

Congratulations sir, my amazing egbon.
