For Kogi State’s Miss Tourism 2016, Sadiat Ayomide Oseni, fashion is not about being addicted to the brands of a particular designer. Oseni, who hails from Ife- Olukotun in Yagba East Local Government Area of the state, says so long as the cloth sits well on her, she’s good to go. The 300 level student of Mass Communication at the Espam Formation University (Ecole Supre’rieure Panaafricaine De Management Appliqu’e) in Cotonou, Benin Republic, however, says she likes shoes, bags and sunshades. “I wear anything nice,” she says, but quickly adds, “Gucci is cool.”
Talking about her emergence as Miss Tourism in her home state of Kogi, Oseni said, “I give glory to God Almighty; I wouldn’t have made it this far without Him. It wasn’t an easy task. We were 21 contestants out of which only 14 made it to the finals. “There were challenges here and there but because I was determined, I had to make up my mind not to be discouraged by anything and I put my best and here I am today.”
She added that she did her assignment well by being active, punctual and also paying attention to everything taught her during the five days all the contestants spent in camp. On what she enjoys doing most, the reigning queen of tourism in Kogi State, said, “I love making new friends, travelling, shopping and putting smile on people’s face”.
But she added her life’s goal is to become a successful presenter and a well-known fashion designer to enable her bring smiles to the faces of people who cross her path. “I want to be a successful presenter and a known fashion designer.
I want to be the reason for someone’s smile. I’ll love to bring out the best in our youth, by God’s grace,” she says. As Kogi’s Miss Tourism, her plan is to bring back the lost glory of her state by ensuring the revival and development of her tourist centers.
“I’ll like to bring back our lost glory in Kogi State by improving our tourist centres and also creating an avenue for the youths to be heard.” She added that with the help and support of the Kogi State government and other prominent people in the state, she would be in good stead to help the less privileged in the state.
