The Nigeria Railway Corporation has announced the temporary suspension of its services along the Abuja-Kaduna route due to the recent attack by some suspected terrorists.
The corporation gave the indication on Tuesday morning following the reported attack on Monday night.
The Kaduna-bound train, with over 900 passengers on board, was said to have derailed.
The gunmen reportedly blew up the rail track, forcing the 1000-capacity train to derail around Rijana, a village on the rail corridor in Kaduna.
The NRC, in a statement via its official Twitter page on Tuesday, said, “Dear passengers, due to unforeseen circumstances, Train operations along the Abuja-Kaduna route has been temporarily suspended.
“Further Communication would be given in due course.”
