Fatai Akinbade, one of the governorship aspirants under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State has withdrawn from contesting the July 16 governorship election in the state.
Akinbade, who aspired for the governorship in 2018, announced his withdrawal in Osogbo on Monday.
He asked his supporters to vote for another aspirant, Prince Dotun Babayemi in the party’s governorship primary slated for Tuesday.
The former Secretary to the State Government’s pull out from the race came few minutes after Dr Akin Ogunbiyi announced his withdrawal.
Also, a nephew to Senator Ademola Adeleke, Mr Dele Adeleke, one of the Governorship aspirants in the party, has pulled out from the race.
Adeleke said he was ready to work for the party to take over mantle of leadership from the “failed APC in the state.”
Adeleke disclosed this in a meeting with his coordinators and supporters across the state.
He said, ”PDP is my party and I am fully ready to work for the party to win the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.”
