After the release of the 32-man list for the Super Eagles ahead of the crucial World Cup qualifier double header against the Black Stars of Ghana later this month, some top Ghanaian journalists took to the social media to share their thoughts on Austin Eguavoen’s squad selection.

The most popular opinion among them was the boisterous attacking prowess of the Super Eagles. However, they also spoke on lack of creativity in the Nigerian midfield.

The Nigerian squad for the West African derby is made up of 25 players- three goalkeepers, eight defenders, five midfielders, and nine attackers. There are also seven players on standby.

Asides the Qatar 2022 tickets, the game is also a battle for pride, as the two sides are arguably the best teams from West Africa.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has admitted that it will not be an easy task playing against Ghana in the FIFA World Cup playoff.

Nigeria will face Ghana in the playoff for the ticket to the Qatar 2022 World Cup November this year.

The Leicester City midfielder in an interview with reporters said it means a lot for the Super Eagles to qualify to Qatar 2022.
“It will mean a lot for us to go back to the World Cup,” Ndidi said.

“But Ghana will not be easy. To be honest, we have to be careful about their whole team and not just any specific players. It will be two tough games.”

The combative midfielder was among the players invited by Super Eagles technical adviser, Austin Eguavoen ahead of the game.

Nigeria will travel to Ghana for the first leg on March 25 while the second leg will take place at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
