An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, on Tuesday, ordered that four unemployed men be remanded in prison over alleged robbery.
The police charged Ishola Rilwan, 27; Isiaka Sheriff, 23; Yusuf Ifekoya, 22; and Edward Chima, 25, with conspiracy and robbery.
Magistrate L.A. Owolabi, who did not take the plea of the suspects, ordered that they should be remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending legal advice from the Lagos State Department of Public Prosecution.
Owolabi adjourned the case till February 15 for mention.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Innocent Odugbo, alleged that the suspects armed themselves with cutlasses and robbed Amadu Hayatu of valuables worth N326,000.
Odugbo told the court the suspects committed the offence with others at large around 2am, on December 14 on Odofin Street, Ajegunle, Lagos.
The alleged offence contravened the provisions of sections 297(1)(2)(a)(b), 299 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State.
