BREAKING: NEMA warns of massive gas leakage in Lagos

The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has raised the alarm over a reported case of massive gas leakage in Ikeja area of Lagos State.

The agency, therefore, warned residents and other people around the area to be careful with the use of naked fire.

The agency has also warned shop owners not open.

Affected areas include Computer Village, Anifowose Street, Underbridge Awolowo Way, Oba Akran and Medica Road.

The agency in a statement by the spokesman in Lagos, Ibrahim Farinloye,
said “Residents around Computer Village /Underbridge Awolowo Way and Oba Akran axis, Onifowose Street, Medical Road must not open shops or use open naked fire for safety reason.

“Distressed alert just received indicates massive leakage of gas pipeline around these areas

“Let us take utmost safety precautions.”
