Voting for the 8th edition of the Nigeria Pitch Awards has commenced on Thursday, October 28, 2021 and will continue until November 30, 2021 according to the organizers led by its President, Shina Philips, in Lagos.
He stated that unlike previous editions, all the voting will be done online.
“In this edition, voting will also be online. Voting for this edition will be through the Award Form created in MS-Word format. The form and the 2021 Award Criteria have both been attached to the mail sent to the voters who are majorly sports editors and managers of different media platforms in the country.
“In line with one of the key suggestions made during our recent engagement with voters at the Nigeria Pitch Awards Lagos luncheon, we have introduced the ‘Football Pitch of the Year Award’ to highlight the importance of good playing pitches and honour the football pitch with the best playing surface and facilities each year in Nigeria. The criteria for this award have been outlined in the Award Criteria 2021.
“Also voters will be able to make their nominations/cast their votes by making only two choices in each category. Their first choice in each category will be awarded 5 marks while their second choice will be awarded 3 marks.
“Award winners are determined solely by votes cast by the voters and other distinguished sports journalists selected for their experience, professionalism and pedigree. They have our assurances that the process leading to the final decisions on winners will remain transparent and credible. We have absolute confidence in the quality of your decisions and we assure Nigerians that the votes in each category will be accurately captured.”
“Choices made by the voters will reflect top performers in Nigerian football between January 1, 2021 and present,” Philips said.
He further revealed that the entire process will be coordinated by SIAO Partners, a world class accounting and auditing firm, who are well noted for their professionalism and high standards.
