The Ebonyi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has advised that any official of the Independent National Electoral Commission contemplating ‘writing’ election results against the party in the 2023 elections should get his/her Will ready, before doing so.
South East National Vice Chairman of the party, Ali Odefa sounded the note of warning in Abakaliki while addressing party loyalists at a recent State Executive Council meeting.
Odefa encouraged the members not to be intimidated by anyone, and stressed that it would not be possible for any INEC Official to “write 2023 election results against PDP in Ebonyi State”.
He said, “Don’t let them panic you. ‘That man wey wan panic you, na we put am there.’ I want to tell you also that in 2023 no man born of a woman can write results against PDP in Ebonyi State. It’s not possible. Before you write to rig PDP out or write results against PDP, you must first of all go and write your Will and share your properties.
(The) “Egyptians you see today; you will see them no more. The Egyptians masquerading in our government house today you will see them no more.”
Former Secretary to the Federal Government, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, on his part stressed that Ebonyi State belonged to the PDP since 2009 and they would put a member of the party as a Governor of the state in 2023, irrespective of the fact Governor David Umahi they installed in 2015 “ran away”.
Senator Anyim said, “Ebonyi Government House Abakaliki belongs to the PDP. In 2015, we put someone there and he ran away, we will bring another person to replace him in 2023 because Ebonyi State belongs to PDP.”
In the same vein, the first Executive Governor of the state Senator Sam Egwu and the Senator representing Ebonyi Central Constituency, Obinna Ogba debunked rumours that the party in the state was engulfed in crisis and assured that united they would reclaim the state for the party, come next general election.
The Point reports that the meeting was attended by all serving PDP National Assembly members from the state, state legislators, past and present state and local government stakeholders among others.
