Police arrest man, 46, for murder in Ogun

Police in Ogun have arrested a 46-year-old man for allegedly killing one Fadairo Sherifat at Owode – Egbado in Yewa South Local Government Area of the state.

The suspect, Solomon Kayode, was said to have thrown the corpse of his victim into a soakaway at Ishaga area of Owode Egbado after killing her.

The state Police Commissioner, Ahmed Iliyasu, said that the suspect was nabbed by the police when he was caught trying to dispose the body of his 60-year-old victim.

According to the Police boss, “One Solomon Kayode,.46, of Owode -Egbado Market beside NEPA transformer was arrested by the police for killing one Fadairo Sherifat, 60. The suspect dumped the corpse inside soak away at Ishaga area in Owode Egbado. The suspect was arrested by the police while trying to mutilate the deceased corpse.”

Iliyasu added that the case was being investigated by the police.

Exhibits recovered from the suspect included a Cutlass, two ropes, a knife, a ladder, two white bags and palm fronds.

Also, the police have arrested a 54-year-old woman, Idowu Olupinla, for alleged human trafficking and child abuse.

The police commissioner disclosed that the suspect was fond of taking female teenagers out of the country for prostitution.

He said that suspect, who was the founder of a white garment church in, Ijoko Ota, was arrested when one Haruna Saidat, 16, came to lodge a report the that suspect was using the girls as prostitutes to make money.

Olupinla was later apprehended by the police while the young girls had been taken to hospital for medical check up.

Meanwhile, the police in the state have also parraded two members of an armed robbery gang, who had been terrorising the residents of Ogijo /Sagamu area .
