A middle aged man, Abdulramon Tijani, has prayed a Customary court sitting in Ake, Abeokuta, Ogun State, to dissolve his marriage with his estranged wife, Muyinatu, on account of breach of trust.
Tijani alleged that the woman left the home and joined her lover almost two years ago.
Muyinatu had approached the court for the dissolution of her 11-year-old marriage with her husband on the ground that he always beats her.
According to her, the man sent her and their two children packing out of home following a fight that broke out between them.
However, the embattled husband said that following a slight misunderstanding, the woman moved away from home to join another man for whom she was pregnant.
He claimed that the woman was fond of sleeping with different men one of whom, he alleged, she was pregnant for.
He said that his wife had packed their property, including their matrimonial bed, to a room that Kazeem, his lover, rented for her.
He added that efforts by the family members to resolve the issue proved abortive as his mother-in-law always supported his wife whenever they quarreled.
The man asked the court to dissolve their marriage, saying that after two years of separation and having got pregnant for another man, their reunion was no longer possible.
“My wife is promiscuous; she packed her belongings out of home and went away with the children to live with another man. She even packed the bed that I bought with my money to the home of her lover. I am ready for a divorce.”
The President of the court, Mrs A.O Abimbola, ruled that their children should remain under the custody of their mother.
She adjourned the case for further hearing.
