The Kano State Police Command has arrested a 26-year-old man, Musa Sani, for allegedly stealing 100 mobile phones.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the Command, DSP Abdullahi Kiyawa, confirmed the arrest of the suspect, a resident of Sabon Gari in the Kano metropolis.
Kiyawa noted that Sani, a notorious mobile phone snatcher, who specialises in intimidating his victims in order to extort them, operated within the metropolis.
The PPRO said, “I can confirm to you that the suspect, Musa Sani, was arrested in Sabon-Gari, Kano. We opened investigations into his criminal activities; he confessed to the alleged stealing of 100 mobile phones.
Kiyawa said one Mustapaha Abdulkadir, a mobile phone dealer, had also been arrested alongside Sani for aiding him in the criminal act, adding that investigations were in progress, following which the suspect would be charged to court.
