MICRO blogging and social network service platform, Twitter, has indicated its readiness to have a discussion with the Nigerian government over the suspension of its operations in Nigeria.

Twitter said it was ready to have an open discussion with the Federal Government in order to address mutual concerns.

This might have confirmed the position of many on the fact that the social network service platform had been losing a lot of revenue with the ban in Nigeria, considering the huge tweeting population in the nation.

The Federal Government suspended Twitter’s operation in Nigeria, last Friday, saying the platform was being used to threaten Nigeria’s corporate existence.

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, had however hinted that the social media giant was already seeking a high-level discussion with Nigeria to resolve the issue.

Confirming this, Twitter said, “Today marks one week since Twitter was blocked in Nigeria. We have informed the Nigerian government that we are ready to meet for an open discussion to address mutual concerns and see the service restored.

“We remain advocates for the free and #OpenInternet everywhere. #KeepitOn.”
