For professional etiquette coach, Ms. Janet Adetu, every lady should adopt their personal style and not just anything trendy in the fashion space.
A highly-sought inspirational and motivational speaker in Nigeria, United Kingdom and Kenya, she believes that one’s fashion style should be determined by personal style and not dictated by the crowd.
“I follow fashion to a certain extent but only because I like to be trendy. My fashion sense is determined by my own personal style, I like to blend various colours, styles and accessories that are uncommon, comfortable but stylish. “My wardrobe varies according to the event; I have a number of high street fashionable pieces, one-off bespoke outfits, a huge collection of classical all-time favourites and various traditional laces with countless headgears.
“I am also quite adventurous; I do not mind trying out new things especially if it gives that panache advantage. My alltime signature is in my shoes and my pearls,” the etiquette expert said. Adetu, who is an alumnus of the Protocol School of Washington, United States, explained that nutrition plays a key role in the fashion sense of individuals.“In my trainings, I always advocate the importance of good grooming. Taking care of your body is a vital part of developing your personal and professional presence. First impressions do really go a long way, as perception is reality. I have a balanced diet time table on my kitchen wall, which I follow religiously.
“Though, there are some days I don’t comply with the timetable, but I have become very conscious of my health as I am a firm believer that your body is a temple if you treat it like one. I have a personal trainer to keep me on track especially with my busy schedule. Thankfully health and fitness is now a serious mission for many of us and is one of my personal goals,” she said.
