Cholera outbreak kills 20 in Bauchi

ABOUT 20 persons have died from cholera outbreak in Bauchi State.

Commissioner for Health in the state, Dr. Aliyu Maigoro, confirmed the development at a briefing on Tuesday.

He disclosed that the index case was a 37- year-old housewife, who was admitted at the Burra General Hospital on April 24, 2021, in Ningi Local Government Area.

Maigoro said after she was admitted, officials discovered that there was an outbreak of a similar disease in neighbouring communities.

Sumaila and other Local Government Areas of Kano State are some of the affected communities.
